Spain is a historic country with a large choral tradition that dates from its Middle Ages. From the Cantigas of King Alfonso the Wise to the Gregorian Chants by the monks of Silos in Burgos or its splendour times of the Spanish empire and Palestrina or Tomas Luis de Victoria.
As in other places in Europe, in Spain, you will find one of the unique possibilities for your choir to sing with the best acoustic you will find coming from millenary stones.
From the old Romanesque churches, you can find in North and Central Spain to the Gothic and Renaissance Cathedrals, from the ancient Cistercian monasteries and cloisters to the Neoclassic and Baroque ones, Spain offers and a wide variety of venues where you can sing both sacred and secular music.
Audiences are always welcoming and warm at each concert and we work hard to guarantee the largest ones on each concert of your tour. We do organize every summer our Castile International Choral Festival in Central Spain but we work every year with many other choirs during all seasons organizing custom choral tours throughout Spain and Portugal. For gospel and spirituals music, we do organize each year during the two first weeks of December our Gospel in Spain Festival.
We would love to hear from you for the coming seasons of 2022 and 2023 on which we are currently working on.
Below are a few samples of tailored tours we can offer your choir and a brief introduction:
Central and Northern Spain, Camino de Santiago, Burgos, Leon, Oviedo, Santander, Santiago, Galicia and Northern Portugal
The discovery of the relics of St James (Santiago) in the northwestern part of the Iberian peninsula was the right claim for Christianity. Kings from France and their soldiers and knights were the first pilgrims to arrive, followed by many others who came searching for their indulgences. Old Romanesque monasteries and Churches were built along the Camino. Several cities, such as Burgos and Leon, grew around the markets and their cathedrals.
The Basque Country, Rioja, Santander, Asturias, Galicia, Leon, Northern Portugal
From Barcelona or Madrid, you can start your choral tour for a few days. We will explore the Basque Country and the Rioja Wine regions, with the world-renowned cities of San Sebastian and Bilbao. From there, we traverse other must-see locations, such as Santander and the region of Cantabria. There are countless mountains and valleys and beautiful Fisherman towns along the coast before we arrive into the kingdom of Asturias. Next onto Santiago and ending, OR extending the tour to the Portuguese city of Porto. We can create programs for your choir that start from 7 days and organize two to four concerts.
Segovia, Toledo, Alcala de Henares, Avila, Salamanca, El Escorial, mountains of Madrid
Using Madrid as the gateway city is best. We suggest combining its cultural life, museums and parks with the surrounding cities of Toledo, Segovia, Aranjuez, Avila, Salamanca, Alcala de Henares, El Escorial or Cuenca…
Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Granada and Malaga
Two Mediterranean cities with interesting possibilities for your orchestra to perform are surrounded by towns and smaller cities where we can arrange several concerts. You can extend the trip and add a few nights in Madrid or Zaragoza; or start in Barcelona, then to Valencia and end in Granada. From there, you will fly back from Malaga, another Mediterranean city.
Using Malaga as the best Gateway, we will suggest our best routes and concerts
Every year we organize the Andalucia Music Festival in Granada and other cities in Andalucía: Malaga, Granada, Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera, and Cordoba are some of the cities we suggest you visit and organize the concerts for your choir. You can also add an excursion to visit and explore Tangier in North Africa, or perhaps extend to Lisbon, Coimbra or Porto.
We will love to hear from you and your interest at any time!
