Wind Bands in Spain

Custom performance tours and  festivals in Spain since 1995

Proud of organizing  custom concert tours for Wind Symphonies, Concert and                                            Marching Bands in Spain and Portugal.

Spain has a long tradition in Music and especially in wind instruments and marching bands . Valencia is one the most traditional region in Spain where every single village has a local band and towns are divided in two bands and half part of its population belongs and proudly play on one of them. Those music societies are among the oldest ones in Europe and Valencia celebrates each year the probably oldest international band competition in Europe during the month of June

Most of our concert tours  for Bands are  tailored ones where we adjust to the number of days available for each performance group and to the number or concerts they want to play and the cities they want to visit.

Marching Parades in  Spain

Spain celebrates numerous fiestas all year round from early Spring till the end of Autum every year. But every year´s calendar opens with the Cabalgata de Reyes during Epiphany (   January 5th), where   almost every city in Spain celebrates the parade of the Three Kings.

Then comes our Mardi Gras,  our local Carnaval in mid/end of February, where the  tradition of Carnaval  is celebrated with  desfiles( parades) , fleets, music for  over a week. Cities such as  Cadiz,  Sitges or the Canary Islands ( Tenerife of Las Palmas) are a must to see and a unique opportunity for your ensemble to march. Other cities such as the medieval ones like Toledo or  Segovia do celebrate parades  through the medieval streets.

March opens  the fiesta time in Spain with Las Fallas festival in Valencia and its province, for  almost three intense weeks but particularly the week before  March 19th, the  fiesta of San Jose, patron saint of Valencia. This festivals are a break  during the Lint period and as a catholic tradition country we  must wait few more weeks until  Easter and the Holy Week, where  all the cities organize the religious parades were brotherhoods march with musicians and volunteers hanging on their shoulders the beautiful images of the Madonna and Jesus through its narrow streets.

Shortly  after  the city of Sevilla opens with the Feria de Abril the fiesta  calendar that runs until middle of October in Zaragoza.  During that period  is when every city or small town celebrates the majority of its  local festivities in honor to their patron saints and Madonna.

Orchestra Tours in Spain

Custom performance tours and  festivals in Spain since 1995

Thinking on touring with your orchestra in Spain ? We had been working closely with youth orchestras organizing  concert tours in Spain and Portugal  for many years. Spain has a  rich music tradition and your orchestra could travel easily between cities all year round. Amateur young choirs can perform in local conservatories,  schools and auditoriums and semi professional orchestras will be invited to play in  beautiful concert halls and theatres during the winter-spring season. During the months of June, July and August, concerts are mostly outdoor  and  are part of  summer music festivals all over  the Iberian peninsula that we partner with.

Big percussion instruments are available or can be borrow sometimes if concerts are in conservatories or music schools. But in general we sue to hire all the percussion and technical equipment your orchestra might need to tour, including instrumental trucks.

Besides all the travel arrangements that we can provide  as travel agents  to your group   such as accommodation, transportation, meals ;  we  also provide your group  with all the artistic arrangements you need for a successful tour in  Spain , from  the best  selection of venues available to different encounters with other  orchestras and musicians ( including if you wish some exchange concerts , master classes or clinics ) to participate at some of the most prestige international music festivals in the country or to participate in some of our own ones.

We do partner  with  music festivals, and youth symphony festivals in Spain since over two decades. We did organized concerts for high school orchestras, university /college orchestras, city youth orchestras, national youth orchestras or adult community orchestras.

Choral Tours & Festivals in Spain

Custom performance tours and choral festivals in Spain since 1995

Spain  is  a historic  country with  a  large choral tradition  that dates from its middle ages. From the Cantigas of King Alfonso the Wise,  to the Gregorian Chants  by the monks of Silos in Burgos or  its splendor  times  of the Spanish empire and  Palestrina or Tomas Luis de Victoria.

Below are few  samples of  taylor tours we can offer to  your choir and a brief introduction

Pilgrims and Monasteries   ( Central and Northern Spain, Camino de Santiago,  Burgos, Leon, Oviedo, Santander, Santiago, Galicia and Northern Portugal)

The discovery of the relics of  St James ( Santiago) in the  northwestern part of the Iberian peninsula was the right claim  for  the Christianity.  Kings from  France  and  their soldiers  and knights  were the first pilgrims to  arrive and later were followed by many others who came searching for their indulgences.  Old Romanesque monasteries and Churches  were  built along the Camino. Several cities  grew around the markets  and their cathedrals such as Burgos or  Leon.

The Green Spain  ( The Basque Country, Rioja, Santander, Asturias,  Galicia , Leon, Northern Portugal)

From Barcelona or Madrid you can start your choral tour for  few days and we will  start in the Basque Country and the Rioja Wine regions, cities such as  San Sebastian or Bilbao. From there other must stops will be Santander  and the region of Cantabria. Mountains and valleys, beautiful fishman towns  along the coast before arriving into  the kingdom of  Asturias on to Santiago and ending  /extending the tour in  the Portuguese city of Porto .  We can create programs for your choir starting from 7 days,  where  we can organize 2 to 4 concerts.

Madrid & Central Spain  ( Segovia, Toledo ,Alcala de Henares, Avila, Salamanca, El Escorial, mountains of Madrid )

Using Madrid as  gateway will  be the best  and we will suggest to combine its cultural life, museums and parks   with the surrounding cities as Toledo, Segovia, Aranjuez, Avila , Salamanca, Alcala de Henares, El Escorial  or Cuenca…

Andalucia & Portugal

(Granada, Malaga, Almeria, Úbeda, Cordoba, Sevilla , Cadiz)

Using Malaga as  the best Gateway, we will suggest our best routes and concerts.  Every year we do organize the

Andalucia Music Festival in Granada and other cities in Andalucía: Malaga, Granada, Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera,  Cordoba are some of  the cities  we will suggest you to visit and where we will organize the concerts for your choir. You can also add an  excursion to  visit and explore Tangier in north Africa, or extend to Lisbon, Coimbra or Porto

CUSTOM PERFORMANCE CONCERT TOURS FOR CHOIRS

“Working with Josu Camacho and  Perform in Spain Tours was truly a wonderful experience. We were able to give concerts in the most spectacular venues of Spain and Portugal and in front of full audiences. Josu was a wonderful and professional tour guide giving us lots of historical background on the areas we visited. The sightseeing was very well organized and the hotels were well selected and met all of our needs. We also had wonderful exchanges with choirs and audiences throughout the trip.  I look forward to touring Spain again with my choir”
