Marching with your Band in Spain

Coming to Europe with your marching band had become a unique experience for many U.S College and  HS Bands. But  also  for  us as Europeans, to have the chance to  see and enjoy those marching bands in a parade in Europe had been memorable experience as well

Cities such as Dublin on St Patrick’s Day, London or Rome on New Year had become so popular and demanding.

Here in Spain, we are a country of fiestas, celebrations, parades, and great weather and we know to celebrate.

Our calendar of Fiestas starts every year during the Epiphany of the Kings, the night of the  5^th of January, where every small town to a big city celebrates the Cabalgata. The most popular one is the one in Madrid with over 1,2 million people watching this  Cabalgata parade, and where we will invite your marching band to participate. Other cities such as Toledo, Segovia, Valencia, Malaga or Granada just to mention a few, are cities that we can  invite you to participate as well

During Mardi Gras, is when we celebrate our Carnaval with parades in every city, but particularly we invite you to participate in the ones in the Canary Islands,  The one in Las Palmas, Carnaval de las Palmas, or  Carnaval de Tenerife are simply magic.

The Canary Islands are located in front of African coast in the Atlantic Ocean and have a tropical weather that helps a lot.

To compare the atmosphere and ambiance in those islands during our Carnaval, we could say that it is the “European Rio de Janerio Carnaval”.

During the third week of March, we do celebrate in  Valencia region, “Las Fallas” that happens around St Patrick in Dublin. Valencia region in the Mediterranean is considered among the most musical regions in Spain, especially in terms of wind music, and every town and city has many communities involved in community bands that you will see marching through the streets for over a week every time.

Those are just some experiences we consider you should keep in mind if you want to march with your band in Spain someday, unique and memorable experiences that we will be glad to invite you to participate as we are partners with the CityHall and cultural authorities for this organization.
